The Regional Arts Commission and the Kevin Kline Awards are joining forces (Wonder Twin Powers, activate!) to sponsor a local “Free Night of Theater,” as part of a nationwide program. Brand-spankin’-new Insight Theater Company, The Rep, St. Louis Actors’ Studio, Slightly Askew Theatre Ensemble, New Line Theatre, Piwacket Theatre for Children and Mustard Seed Theatre are all participating (and, in fact, all the tix for Piwacket's Hansel and Gretel are already snapped up). If two free theater tickets would get you off your butt and into a theater seat, go to freenightoftheater.net, click on “Find a Show,” and then pick “St. Louis” from the drop-down menu. All available shows will take place October 16, with the exception of Mustard Seed Theatre’s October 31 production of Smoke on the Mountain. —Stefene Russell
