I hate when concerts are too crowded. I usually end up with a giant towering in front of me and people behind me that are trying to squeeze their way past me to the stage. That’s why, although it may not be a full house, I’m glad that when Death Cab For Cutie comes to town they will be playing at The Fabulous Fox Theatre. (By the way, the volpine monniker of the opening band, Fleet Foxes, is just a coincidence.) Their show on October 13 will be the band’s first performance at the Fox since the release of Narrow Stairs; in my opinion, it's the ideal venue to watch the band live. I’ll have more space, a comfortable seat and beautiful and ornate architecture for my viewing pleasure—not to mention Ben Gibbard’s soothing voice ringing in my ears. (Until then, I’ll have their albums on repeat and count the days—six and some change—till the show. —Alex Bates, St. Louis Magazine Fall Intern
