Thanks to St. Louis’ fair fall weather, brides-to-be have been taking advantage of the crisper temperatures and beautiful fall landscapes, making fall the cool new wedding season. Not only does the bridal party get a break from potentially sweating off their makeup and losing their perfectly coiffed curls to frizzy hair and flyaways, but guests don’t have to sweat their butts (or makeup) off either. This wedding season take advantage of the humid-free air, so let your hair down and don’t be afraid of the braid. Here's a fun, quick guide to getting the perfect hair for fall wedding season:
1.) Curly Cue
During the height of St. Louis’ heinous humidity, the last thing I want to do is wear my naturally wavy, frizz-prone hair down. But fear not, curly-haired beauties. The cooler temps mean you can wear your curls down and not have to worry about overheating or frizz. Add some product (I love Illuminating Curl by Pureology), and depending on your waves, air-dry as needed for a more natural, laid-back look.
2.) The Half-Up Up-Do
Oh, how I love Sienna Miller. And her casual-yet-chic up-do makes me love her even more. Whether you have bangs, are growing out bangs, or have single-length hair, this is the perfect up-do for all hair types. Leave your hair straight or curly—just a simple half ponytail softens your look without sacrificing any sex appeal.
3.) Top Knot
I was recently inspired by one of my favorite style bloggers, Julia of Gal Meets Glam. Her recent post on how to get the perfect topknot is a spot-on addition. Keep your hair out of your face with little effort and still look chic? Now that’s a do that I can deal with.
4.) Messy Side Braid
Currently a favorite hair style for bridesmaids, braided-up do's are a great alternative to traditional bridal-party coifs. As a guest, you don’t want your braided hair style to seem too severe or overly styled. Instead, opt for a more casual take on the trend a la Elizabeth Olsen. Messy but still stylish, a low braid with just a few front layers framing your face is a perfect way to show off your length without sacrificing style.
