The women of Thirteenth and Washington (1300 Washington) are at it again. This time, they are hosting a release party for a new collection by Blue Bird Apparel. The event, which is called FML Fest for “Fashion–Music–Life,” will take place on Saturday, September 1. A pre-party with free food and drinks courtesy of Miss Ohio Vintage starts at 6 p.m., and there’s a fashion show at 7 p.m.
The event is sponsored by Blue Bird Apparel to debut the brand’s fall/winter collection. Blue Bird’s founder and designer, Anna Friss, describes the collection as “comfort with a personality” and edgy apparel for the creative professional. Items from the collection will be featured on the runway alongside apparel and accessories from CLR-MNSTR, Rich Phillips Leather, DNA Clothing Boutique, Devil City and BelleStyle Bijoux.
“We are all showing different trend-forward and lifestyle-focused looks that the audience can put together for a decent price,” says Friss. “The fashion show is set up more like a trend report than a traditional fashion show so that we may educate the audience on what is going on in fashion in the world for this fall/winter season.”
Other entertainment for the evening will include live music by local performers, such as Between the Rivers and Volcanoes. There will also be a special burlesque show by the Hoochie Coochie Girls from Van Ella Productions. Radio personality Lux from 105.7 The Point will be the master of ceremonies.
If you’re going to go, get there early. The first 150 people to arrive will get gift bags filled with goodies from the sponsors.
