Chadbourne

Dr. Euguene Chadbourne is in St. Louis this week, for what he calls "two sets solo in the heart of Chuck Berry territory, first St. Louis show since a cab driver ripped the Doc off for twenty bucks." He was in the KDHX studios yesterday to play some live sets for BobEE Sweet's Uncontrollable Urge show (the station has the whole A/V experience documented -- the audio's here, visuals here.) and he will indeed perform two free solo sets on guitar and banjo at the Schlafly Tap Room tonight, June 4, at 8 and 10 p.m.
This is the place in the blog entry where I explain to you who Dr. Chadbourne has jammed with (Jimmy Carl Black, John Zorn, BIlly Bragg, Camper Van Beethoven, etc.) or drop in a sparkling, clever quote from a rock magazine (actually, Jason Toon's recent interview exlains Dr. Chadbourne's approach pretty darn well) but I think for those contemplating hotfooting it down to Locust tonight, the best way to acquaint youself with Eugene Chadbourne (if you haven't already) is to check out his performances in his House of Chadula video archives. --Stefene Russell
