Unlike 200 Motels or the 5,000 Fingers of Doctor T, the numerical reference in 1,000 Arches is not a hyperbole. A film competition organized by the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum (Forsyth and Skinker, 314-935-4523) as part of Eero Saarinen: Shaping The Future, 1000 Arches aims to look at the Gateway Arch from as many views as possible, so they’re inviting you (yes, you), as well as your grandmother, next-door neighbor, mailman and dentist to submit 3-minute videos describing your peculiar relationship with—and perception of—the Gateway Arch. Guidelines for submissions are here; submissions can be uploaded on the 1000 Arches YouTube page till 11:59 p.m. on April 8. On April 18, the Kemper will host a free screening of selected submissions (maybe yours?) at 4 p.m., preceded by a light reception and lectures by award-winning filmmakers Bill Ferehawk and Ed Moore. —Stefene Russell
