Landlocked St. Louis is set to get a tidal wave of coastal-inspired fashion with the opening of Crescent Coast (169 Carondelet Plaza, 314-726-7979) at The Shoppes at the Crescent on Friday, February 14.
Owner Terry Warner says Crescent Coast is the culmination of her love of travel to places like Florida, California, and Europe. In each place, she says she finds fun places to shop.
“I’m the mother of two boys, and I know how they like to shop and how I like to shop,” she said. “I wanted to bring it together all under one roof.”
The boutique is the exclusive St. Louis retailer of Calypso St. Barth, Salt Life, Strong Boalt, and MyPakage. The boutique also carries brands like Southern Tide, Sperry Top-Sider, Stone Rose, Escapada, Johnnie-O, Native Outfitters, Stance, Costa sunglasses, and Pura Vida bracelets from Costa Rica.
Warner says she looks for quality, comfort, ease of wear, and style in the lines she carries in the store.
“We currently have 31 brands, and we’re adding more every day,” she said.
In addition to apparel made for style and performance, the store also sells everything from wooden iPhone covers to bow ties to ukuleles. Crescent Coast even has a few surf boards and stand-up paddle boards.
Warner describes the store as “very colorful,” with a “unique” layout influenced by her previous career in the custom home-building business. The store also includes a lounge area outside of the fitting rooms, where customers can relax and watch surfing or other sports on big television screens.
Crescent Coast will hold its grand opening celebration this weekend, starting with the ribbon cutting at noon on Friday, Feb. 14. Stop by the store from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday or from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday for door prizes, a drawing for a $250 gift certificate for a spring break outfit, and a discount of 10 percent on all purchases.
