If you've not seen it, Thomas Crone and Bill Streeter have launched a swell new site called Creative St. Louis. The content is organized by day, with Monday being dedicated to creative people, Tuesday to places, Wednesday to things, Thursday to traditions and Friday to "show and tell." They are off to a roaring start, having already added content every day for a couple of weeks -- check out their take on trivia nights, Wm. Stage and Cherokee's Cranky Yellow.
Speaking of Cherokee, The Archive (3213-15 Cherokee Street), has announced that today, Groundhog Day, is their official opening date. I had a chance to browse their stacks on January 15 during their preview night, and they have GREAT stuff. Things you will not find anywhere else in town. Yes, they are probably things you could find online. But all true bibliophiles I know would much rather have the tactile experience of browsing, of smelling the ink and the paper and being surprised by something they didn't even know they were looking for. --Stefene Russell
