I don't agree with Mr. Anthony Bradley about St. Louis being boring - we may not be in the middle of Manhattan, but I'd hardly say this place is like the morgue! (I was amused, though, to see St. Louis referred to as "the back door of the East" rather than Gateway to the West).
However, I did like what he had to say about our college radio stations, even though I can't back him up with a well-listened opinion. Generally the signals at college stations are pretty weak, so I haven't been an omnivorious listener; I can't argue the merits or demerits of each. However, I'll say that I am a HUGE fan of one of the stations Mr. Bradley mentions, SIU-Edwardsville's WSIE. Primarily that's for the jazz, though I'll admit that listening to space music on John Diliberto's "Echoes," weeknights at 9pm is one of my favorite guilty pleasures. The other callout was Lindenwood University’s KCLC, 89.1 FM The Wood, a very diverse rock format station. I've found it by accident once or twice, I think, but apparently I need to do some reasearch on how to stream that puppy online. —Stefene Russell
