It was a who’s-who Monday night at the annual Met Gala ball. Celebrating “Punk: Chaos to Couture” a bevy of celebs, models, designers and even the Queen of Couture Anna Wintour stepped out in punk-inspired gowns and get-ups. From pseudo septum peircings to Anne Hathaway’s much-talked-about blonde do, some of this year’s beauty trends were set that night. Here are some of my favorite beauty trends at the Met in all their punked-out glory.
1. Anne Hathaway
It wouldn’t be fair to talk about this year’s Met Gala without a mention of Anne Hathaway’s newly blond tresses. Not only can Anne rock the pixie cut like a total rock star, but her once-signature brown hair was equally show-stopping in her statement-making blond do.
2. Nicole Richie
Anne Hathaway wasn’t the only celeb to go for a dramatically different do for the Met. Style icon and designer Nicole Richie was a sight to behold with her gray-blue hair. While I don’t think this color is for everyone, Nicole rocked the hair with the audacity of any rock legend before her.
3. Jennifer Goodwin
Another pixie-haired beauty, Jennifer Goodwin went for a bold statement with an extreme smokey eye and bold, perfectly sculpted brow. Channeling punk rocker Siouxsie Sioux, Jennifer nailed both punk and couture aesthetics perfectly.
4. Jessica Biel
It may be one of the most painful piercings out there, but Jessica Biel rocked her pseudo septum piercing like a pro. Her barely there makeup and slicked back hair left all eyes on her nose piercing, and rightfully so.
5. Jaime King and Sienna Miller
These blond beauties had more than just their svelte figures and long, flowy blond hair in common Monday night. With their modern take on Veronica Lake’s classic side part, these leading ladies turned pretty into punk with their studded crown-like hair pieces.
