Last night I had the pleasure of meeting Los Angeles-based designer Barbara Tfank at a local trunk show for her 2011 spring collection. Tfank's elegant knee-grazing dresses, impossibly chic car coats, and garden wedding appropriate gowns are the definition of what a polished woman with a timeless sense of style should wear.
On top of showing at New York Fashion Week days before her St. Louis visit, Tfank has been managing an extremely full email inbox due to a certain First Lady donning a Barbara Tfank frock on Tuesday (the designer was wearing the same green printed dress that Michelle Obama wore earlier in the week).
Her incredible custom English fabrics, great attention to detail, and ability to cut a dress in the way of a seasoned sculptor make her a designer I hope to see much more of in the future. To check it out yourself, head to Neiman Marcus at Plaza Frontenac on Friday, September 24 for Tfank's personal appearance. She will be in the Couture Salon on level two from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.
