Maybe someone has forwarded this bummmer of a video to you already. Why mayor pro tem Brewster McCracken would go to the trouble of beating up on St. Louis to booster Austin is beyond me. Clearly, he hasn't been to our town lately; his views are woefully outdated (and from the comments I've seen in reply to his video, there are people living in St. Louis who have an even looser grasp on reality). He should take a few moments to stop and watch the footage of Jim Lehrer's visit to St. Louis, which I far more accurately reflects the state of the city -- for instance, Lehrer's team was smart enough to seek out St. Louis' artists (including the folks at Third Degree Glass Factory), who have been a core reason why the city has been gaining, rather than losing, population since 2000. --Stefene Russell
