2. Singer/songwriter St. Vincent’s fifth studio album, Masseduction, won her the Best Rock Song and Best Recordings Package awards at the Grammys, but for her St. Louis performance, she’ll be leaning into her most recent recording, Daddy’s Home. October 8. The Pageant.
3. You might recognize clean comedian Jim Gaffigan from Pixar’s new movie Luca. (He voices the character of sea monster/Luca’s dad, Lorenzo Paguro.) Now catch him in his human form on The Fun Tour. October 1 & 2. Stifel Theatre.
4. For two days, as part of the Shaw Art Fair, 130 fine artists will gather across from the Missouri Botanical Garden to offer up their best paintings, sculpture, prints, glass works, fiber arts, and more. We’re swooning over Morgan Whitson’s whimsical clay cat mugs, Christina Smith’s delicate bird drawings, and Jill Hunter’s colorful fiber works. October 2 & 3. Flora Place at Tower Grove Avenue.
5. The Best of Missouri Market is back to celebrate its 30th year of showcasing local makers. On our radar: a sustainable pumpkin-decorating workshop with the earth-friendly geniuses from Perennial. October 1–3. Missouri Botanical Garden.

6. This month, the Saint Louis Ballet kicks off its 2021–2022 season with Alice in Wonderland, choreographed by Brian Enos. A family-friendly performance, the production features projections by a Pixar/DreamWorks artist. October 2 & 3. Touhill Performing Arts Center.
7. For fans of ’90s rock, Melissa Etheridge’s new album, One Way Out, is a treasure; it consists of nine tracks that the singer-songwriter penned in the 1980s and ’90s but didn’t release. We’re especially into the bluesy rock featured in “For the Last Time.” October 9. The Factory.
8. Guitar legend Buddy Guy once described his style as “gumbo, because if you cook a gumbo in Louisiana, you throw in every kind of meat you can.” Those delicious licks have influenced countless musicians, and now you can hear them at Chesterfield’s newest concert venue. October 8. The Factory.
9. Céline Dion herself once said, “If God would have a singing voice, he must sound a lot like Andrea Bocelli.” October 17. Enterprise Center.
10. Hip-hop duo EarthGang recently paid tribute to queen of neo-soul Erykah Badu in a song called “Erykah,” calling her voice an introduction to “what music could do for the body and for spirit.” Listen to “On & On,” and you might agree. October 16. Fox Theatre.
