Ali Kindle’s newest addition to a Rock Hill strip mall has an undeniably clever name: Sprung (9739 Manchester, 314-918-0575, shoprung.com). A sister store to Rung, the new nonprofit resale boutique sells maternity wear, kids’ clothing, and more. Kindle says the concept was a natural addition, considering her customers’ needs.
“After watching women come in to Rung with their children in tow, it seemed like the perfect fit,” says Kindle, for whom entrepreneurship is something of a family affair—she’s a granddaughter of the founder of Enterprise Holdings, Jack Taylor.
So when the Rock Hill Public Library moved out of the space next door to Rung, Kindle decided to expand, filling the 3,900 square feet with family-friendly offerings.
The new boutique, which was set to open in mid-February, offers a variety of clothing brands, from Ralph Lauren to Disney, Quiksilver to Gap, priced from $2 to $50. Sprung also sells toys, furniture, and bedding. And like Rung’s nonprofit model, whose proceeds go to the Women’s Foundation of Greater Saint Louis, Sprung’s proceeds will also go to benefit a local nonprofit, Nurses for Newborns.
