I previously posted the announcement of Alber Elbaz's collaboration with H&M and now I have a sneak peek at the highly-anticipated collection set to hit stores November 20. The mastermind behind the much-loved Paris-based brand Lanvin will be creating a more affordable line for the Swedish retail giant.
In his own words Mr. Elbaz, Artistic Director of Lanvin explains his process for this collection, "What does luxury mean today? Can luxury be exclusive and democratic at the same time? How can we translate the essence of luxury to a wider audience? The world around us is changing rapidly and I find myself asking these questions more and more. Designer's work is usually tailored to a very small group of people, but the collection for H&M was about trying to translate the dream of luxury to the masses. It was almost like going back to school for me."
Even at a lower price point, these pieces are quintessentially Lanvin—you'll know at first glance the collection is the handiwork of Mr. Elbaz—distinctive cuts, raw ribbon finishes, cheeky illustrations, and pops of color. I'm counting the days...
