As the summer draws to a close, music fans across the city are beginning to count down the days until the return of St. Louis' very own LouFest Music Festival.
Now in its third year, LouFest gives concert-goers the rare opportunity to jam to the best local musicians while enjoying food from around the city, find their new favorite band in the 2 p.m. slot, and top the night off with a performance from alt-rock legends.
Located in Forest Park's main field, the festival takes place the last (read: hottest) weekend in August. Luckily with sponsors like Schlafly, Shock Top and Kaldi's, you can be sure you'll never get too uncomfortable.
Shows alternate between the two large stages set up at the far end of the field, side-stepping the pesky overlapping sets that vex fans at larger festivals.
The rest of the field is filled with retail and food tents selling everything from screen printed T-shirts emblazoned with St. Louis-themed inside jokes to servings of vegan nachos. We’ll be adding content regularly in the weeks and days leading up to the festival. Please note that many of these stories are chock full of links—many with links to songs which are NSFW. So headphones and discretion are advised when clicking in your cubicle.
