1. Hawaii. Probably the most popular honeymoon destination, and with good reason. Warm weather, beautiful beaches and a plethora of resorts offer the perfect opportunity to unwind after all the wedding planning.
2. Paris. Hollywood romances—from the Audrey Hepburn classic Sabrina to the modern love story of Sex and the City—have taught us one thing: all great loves end up in Paris. You’ve seen the Eiffel Tower and scenic Seine River in the movies and on TV, now see it in person with the person you love.
3. Honeymoon cruise. While a cruise isn’t the first choice on many honeymooners’ minds, Doug Bolnick of Intrav Travel Agency thinks it’s a great option. “Everything is taken care of, so you’re more pampered than you would be in a hotel,” he says. Cruises offer the opportunity to head to a unique destination—Bolnick has even seen couples celebrate their love at the North Pole.
4. Tahiti. You can’t get much further from St. Louis, geographically or culturally, than these exotic islands in the South Pacific. Unique to this secluded destination are overwater bungalows and first-class hotel rooms perched above turquoise lagoons.
5. California. If you don’t have time to traverse an ocean, get away to the West Coast. California offers a little something for everyone—the relaxing wine country resorts, playful Disneyland days and sunny beaches are all at your disposal.
