This month, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial is coming to St. Louis. Well, not the actual memorial; it’s staying in D.C. But a replica version—the AVTT Traveling Wall, 80 percent of the size of the original and including more than 58,000 names—will arrive at Lindbergh High School in a procession on June 12. The replica will be on display in front of the school around the clock from June 13 through 16, as part of an event called the Show-Me Hero Salute (show-meherosalute.org). Organizer Butch Thomas, who expects 100,000 visitors, says the simple goal is “to pay honor to the names on the wall.”
