At one time, Craig Sanders lugged his orange globes to bars and carved personalized images with linoleum cutters. "'I'm a professional pumpkin sculptor'—it's a great conversation starter at a bar," says the 49-year-old owner of CJ's Produce & Plants (sculptedpumpkins@aol.com). Today, the former pumpkin-patch farmer displays his craft at places like The Magic House (October 3–4). Yet he always returns to his love, sculpting marble in Italy when the pumpkins are growing in the patch.
