Local filmmaker Chris Grega describes his latest picture, Sound of Nothing, as a “father-daughter story in a post-apocalyptic setting.” What sort of apocalypse? “As much as I hate to say it, it’s zombies,” he says, before adding, “It’s more like a drama with zombies in it than a zombie movie.” The film will be the spotlight presentation at the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase, July 14 through 18. Grega started his company, 88mm Productions (88mmfilms.com), after the accidental death of friend and fellow filmmaker Tom Biondo. This year marks a decade since Grega’s first screening at the showcase.
