Ivy Hill Boutique recently expanded its empire, adding a second location in Ladue (8835 Ladue, 314-721-7004, ivyhillboutique.com), with a grand opening May 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. The new store—a third larger than the Central West End location—has the same vibe as the original, but carries brands that are new to the boutique and Ladue. Owner Hillary Dutcher told us more about her new addition.
What prompted you to open a second store?
There were people that I always ran into who said they wanted to come to the Central West End but they never got down there and that parking is always an issue. For the last couple years, I’ve hoped to find someplace where I could reach a broader audience.
How is the Ladue location different from the original?
I’m excited to bring in a few new jewelry designers and apparel lines, coming later this spring and summer. We are also going to have a build-your-own-jewelry bar. We have a few different lines in the Central West End location where you can order monogrammed jewelry and custom charms; since we have a little more space here, we’re going to make some of those pieces available so that you can come in and create something personalized that day.
Which new brands are you carrying?
We have a few new brands right now: Envi, which is a line of awesome summer dresses; Lauren Moffatt and Orla Kiely, which we have in the Central West End, but will be new to Ladue; Robbi & Nikki, which is the lower-priced line of Robert Rodriguez; and I’m superexcited about Matta, a line of silk scarves with cotton pompoms.
