Those who are young at heart, appreciate contemporary art, or both, will want to stop by the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis (3750 Washington, 314-535-4660, www.contemporarystl.org) this month. Artists Laylah Ali and Yoshitomo Nara are featured there through February 27. Each exhibit lets us explore the magical world of caricatures. Ali’s exhibit, “Paintings and Drawings,” uses cartoon-like characters to address a variety of political and societal concerns. The display is divided into two rooms—one featuring rarely shown drawings and the other with better-known paintings. Nara, who has made a splash with everyone from top art critics to punk kids, is bringing her exhibit, “Nothing Happens.” It features images of young children with a look of adult-like feelings and temperaments along with their tranquil and tender-looking pets. Cost for both exhibits is free. The museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursdays 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sundays 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
