Editorial Interns
Description:
We're currently looking for smart, capable interns to cover St. Louis arts, entertainment, lifestyles, fashion, home trends, gardening and current events, and also help support the magazine's growing web presence.
Our interns conduct research and fact-check as needed, and may be asked to complete data entry for our online and print calendars. In addition to those duties, many opportunities are available to build a portfolio by writing shorter pieces for the Current, our front-of-the book section, and contributing to monthly service features and pitching longer stories. (Pick up a copy of the magazine to see examples.) Interns with more web than journalistic experience are welcome to apply, as we'll need an increasing amount of support in that area.
Interning at St. Louis Magazine gives you the opportunity to work for an established, professional consumer magazine, giving you the chance to add clips to your portfolio, receive mentorship from experienced journalists and editors and generally gain an entrée into the fast-paced world of magazine journalism.
To apply:
Send a cover letter, résumé and 3-5 writing samples by email to srussell@stlmag.com (important: do not send URLs; send either Word or PDF files) or by post to
Ms. Stefene Russell, Senior Editor
St. Louis Magazine
1600 S. Brentwood, Ste. 550
St. Louis, MO 63144
No phone calls, please!
Application deadlines:
November 15 for spring, March 1 for summer, and August 7 for fall.
All internships are unpaid and part-time and must be for school credit.
