| Description: | Named for a fading painting on the façade (it was once a shoe-repair shop), Boots Contemporary Art Space calls itself an “art laboratory,” an artist-run spot where younger or under-the-radar artists can feel free to experiment. In their first year they’ve shown rigorous work from Greece, Germany and Turkey, while their “Slinger” exhibit showcased St. Louis artists. The risk of experimenting, of course, is that you’ll mix the wrong beakers and blow up the lab. But this crew has a steady hand. |
