| Description: | Yes, Constant Reader, we, too, still mourn the multifarious felicities of The Library Ltd., gone now for almost a full decade. That said, at present, no indie bookseller can challenge the chains for convenience and stock. In that respect—please hold your hisses—Borders generally enjoys an advantage over its competitors. Why? Well, again in general, stores from the Ann Arbor–based bookseller have less isolated locations, more diverse inventories, larger floor plans and smarter staffing. Of the seven Borders in the metro area, our fave sits on Brentwood Boulevard, south of the Galleria—just across from our offices, in fact. |
