| Description: | St. Louis has long fostered Americana musicians, and the Linemen continue that tradition in fine style. Earlier this year, drummer John Baldus, vocalist/acoustic guitarist Kevin Butterfield, bassist Greg Lamb and guitarist/pedal-steel guitarist Scott Swartz self-released their debut, Through Side One, a showcase for Butterfield’s tenor and songwriting skills, and the quartet’s instrumental chops. Last month, the Linemen also landed a slot on the bill at the 2007 edition of Twangfest, one of the metro area’s longest-running and most prestigious musical events. They deserved it. |
