Yesterday’s record high temps—70 degrees in February—probably had you thinking you’d be spending the weekend sipping mai tais in the backyard. But a 30-degree drop today has reminded us that we are still in Jack Frost’s (albeit limp) grasp. So if your plans to spend the weekend al fresco fell through, here are two ideas for tonight and tomorrow night. An added bonus: Proceeds from both go to making the world a better place.
Tonight at 6 p.m. at Flamingo Bowl (1117 Washington, 314-436-6666) is Purple Night Out, a bowling-vaganza to raise awareness and funds for pancreatic cancer. Ten dollars at the door gets you two hours of strikes, splits, and gutterballs with free pizza and appetizers, as well as happy hour pricing on drinks. For more details visit pancan.org.
And tomorrow, if you’re feeling super charitable and you have seven brainy friends—and $200 burning a hole in your pocket—why not get a know-it all table at the Young Variety Trivia Night at St. Louis High School (4970 Oakland). Proceeds benefit Variety the Children’s Charity St. Louis. Free Schlafly beer, a raffle, and other games will also be included in the festivities. Doors open at 6 p.m. and trivia starts at 7 p.m. To buy tickets, visit varietystl.org.
