Interesting news re: (now former?) Post-Dispatch columnist Sylvester Brown Jr. on Twitter, on his blog, and on the Daily RFT. He just held a press conference in front of the Gateway Classic building downtown. There seem to be some discrepancies out there regarding whether he was fired (says the P-D's Jeremy Kohler) or quit (says the RFT's Kristen Hinman), as well as whether he's interested in arbitration via the St. Louis Newspaper Guild (RFT says he's not, but then why'd he post the Guild's letter on his blog sans comment?).

Surely more will shake out in the next day or so. Whatever the case turns out to be, it's quite incendiary stuff.
