April 21, 2011 – ST. LOUIS, MO – St. Louis Magazine is pleased to announce the winners of the 2011 Excellence in Nursing awards. At a reception Wednesday, April 20, St. Louis Magazine Editor-in-Chief Jarrett Medlin and AT HOME Editor-in-ChiefChristy Marshall presented awards to 65 finalists. The overall winners in each category were announced for the first time at the reception.

The Excellence in Nursing awards included 16 categories: Cardiovascular; Educator; Emergency Department; General Practice; Hospice, Home Health & Palliative Care; Intensive Care; Internal Medicine; Leadership; Long-Term Care; Neurology; Oncology; Orthopedics; Pediatrics; School; Surgery; and Women’s Health.“Last year, our editors unveiled the inaugural Excellence in Nursing Awards, and we didn’t know what to expect,” says Editor-in-Chief Jarrett Medlin.“The reception was so encouraging that we decided to continue the project for the second year in a row.
