Harry’s Restaurant and Bar is ushering in the new year with a transformation. The downtown staple will soon become Horizon by Harry’s, a “boutique nightclub and event space.” according to its Facebook page. The new concept, which will be housed in the restaurant’s current dining area and accommodate between 200 and 300 guests, will offer DJs, dancing and an upscale design, explained co-owner Tim Pieri.
“We’ve been here 21 years,” Pieri said as hammers and saws sounded in the background, “and it’s time to restructure.”
Harry’s bar—including the longtime bar staff—will remain, albeit with a few changes. “We’re going to a casual menu, but we’re not sacrificing quality,” Pieri said. Available for lunch and dinner, the new menu will feature approachable fare such as house-smoked meats, house-made pizzas and a bevy of sandwiches, including a roasted pork loin Cuban, a tenderloin sandwich, burgers and hand-carved roasted turkey.
Harry’s, located at 2144 Market St., remains open during the construction; watch for Horizon by Harry’s to debut in late February.
